Beefwood Bonuses

Within just a few minutes’ walk to most town amenities, including the main shopping centre, this 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom brick veneer home on 900 sqm approx. block has plenty to offer potential buyers.

Within the home both the kitchen and bathroom have been fully renovated, along with the wood look vinyl floor coverings in the living areas give a modern contrast to the Jarrah timber trims and features. The living, dining and kitchen spaces are all distinctly separate areas with kitchen boasting stainless steel oven, gas cooktop and rangehood amongst neutral colours of marble look benchtop and the ample cupboards.

Each of the good sized bedrooms has built in robes and the property has ceiling fans and split system air conditioning throughout. Externally the dwelling is set back from the front of the block allowing the carport and undercover entertaining area to sit behind a second gate for added ease of mind with the kids. The entertaining area is also screened off from viewing from the road for privacy.

Well established gardens with a mix of shrubs, trees, green lawns and beautiful Boabs keep the tropical Kimberley feel alive whilst the front yard remains easy care mix of mostly gravel and concrete paths which could easily be utilised for boat or trailer parking.

Kununurra overview

The townsite of Kununurra is located in the Kimberley region in the extreme northeast of the state, 3214 kilometres from Perth. When the Ord River Irrigation scheme was being planned in the 1950s a townsite was included in the proposed development. Amongst other submissions of Aboriginal names put forward for the new townsite being created in the vicinity of the Ord River Dam was "Cununurra", said to mean "black soil" and to be the Aboriginal name for the Ord River according to Mary Durack. A Mr. Lewis of the Public Works Department reported that a soil survey undertaken in 1954 had disclosed that 99 per cent of the land to be irrigated from the dam was composed of "cununurra clay". This name was not favoured by the Postmaster-General's Department because of its similarity to place names in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia. However, to compromise, that department suggested adopting the spelling, "Kununurra", this version being approved in March 1960. The townsite was gazetted in 1961.
