The quaint cottage is solidly built and follows a floor plan typical of its 1960's construction. The home has been recently repainted in neutral hues and has a new hot water system and electric oven.

The shed or workshop has delightful sense of character and is approximately 16m X 10m. It has 3 phase power available and a ramp for a small truck. It has been upgraded to include a full bathroom and new gutters and downpipes.

The gardens immediately behind the home are a lush and shady oasis with lawn and established gardens. Large veggie beds and herb beds and a host of fruiting trees including mulberry, apple, loquat and citrus, just to name a few, provide stacks of fresh produce and reduce the need to stock up at the shops! The pretty dam at the rear of the property provides water all year round to keep the gardens green and healthy and an intricate reticulation system services the property.

Mundaring overview

Permanent settlement in Mundaring began in 1882-84 when Mr Peter Gugeri established a vineyard south of the Eastern Railway. The first railway siding at Mundaring was named after him and for some years the area was generally known as "Gugeris". A later settler, M H Jacoby, took over Gugeris' vineyards in 1893, and named the business the "Mundaring Vineyard Company". The name came from an Aboriginal camp situated nearby and the meaning given to Jacoby by the aborigines was "a high place on a high place". The correct pronunciation was "Mundahring" but common usage has gradually converted this to "Mundairing".
