Character with City Views!

If you’ve always wanted to own your own character home, why not get one that is prime for a two storey makeover, offering panoramic views of the city skyline from this elevated block in this sought-after pocket of Joondanna. Otherwise, take the option of demolishing to subdivide and building two new homes, (STCA) both with the same great view.
This original 1930's brick and tile Californian Bungalow sitting street front on a 618m survey strata block, has a modern 2 storey home sitting on the rear lot, highlighting the possibility of creating two similar homes on the front lot, both facing the side driveway, or alternatively, dividing the front lot in the middle to create two street facing lots. The impressive views of the city skyline and the hills offer the perfect scenario for a future upside down living floorplan.

Alternatively, your preference may be to renovate the existing home into a two storey residence. Sitting on a 618m block, a terrific opportunity exists with the creative juices from a new owner to create some great capital growth with an exciting future expansion. The home is ripe for a clever makeover both outwards and potentially with a 2nd storey addition, and 3rd storey attic space under a pitched roof line, to create a lasting impressive presence on this brilliant elevated location.
The current charm of this period home includes high ceilings, jarrah architraves and skirting boards, polished jarrah floors and decorative ceilings. After a period of time, a sizeable extension was added with a country style kitchen, exposed jarrah beams and colonial double doors leading from the family room to the undercover rear courtyard.
The current floor plan offers a formal lounge at the front of the home and the large main bedroom also at the front on the other side of the entry hallway. Completing the home are two other bedrooms, an office, central sitting room, two tidy bathrooms, separate laundry and open plan kitchen/meals and family area.

The home wraps around the central rear entertaining courtyard, protected by the large gabled patio and adjacent to the raised rear garden where a garden shed sits and a great opportunity to re-invent this space to take advantage of the terrific city views.

The location is superb, being only 6km from the city, 9km to Scarborough Beach and in close proximity to Dog Swamp shopping center and the Mt Hawthorn and Osborne Park shopping and café precincts. This prime family living area has a variety of nearby quality primary and secondary schools including St Dennis Primary, St Kieran’s Primary, Tuart Hill Primary, Servite College and in the extended catchment area for Bob Hawke College.

Joondanna overview

The first of the northern suburbs which were born in the post War period of the 1940s was Joondanna. Originally named Joondanna Heights, Joondanna was chosen after the Perth Road Board launched a competition to find a suitable name in 1939. The competition was won by Mrs A Curtis of Donnybrook who suggested Joondanna as this was the name given by a Mr. Banks to his property. He is believed to have been the first settler and owner of land in the area.
