This unique family home has an acute appreciation for design. With expert planning, the house has a vast sense of light and space with framed views of the natural bushland. The owners sought to maximise the benefits of the north-facing property with a modern design that embraces concrete, glass and natural light.
The spatial layout brings a relaxed and comfortable vibe throughout the home, with the kitchen being the main focal point. Vast Caesar stone benchtops, stainless steel appliances, endless storage opportunities and a small servery area for coffee lovers highlights this functional space.
Breakfast bar dining promotes family time and makes this area ideal for endless entertaining.
Two spacious bedrooms, a bathroom and a study nook, are to the right of the main entrance, with each having access to decking space via separate sliding doors. This area highlights privacy and serenity for the kids, with endless living opportunities.
You step down to the main bedroom from the living area, where the stunning views out across the backyard will have you mesmerised. A private deck for those spectacular sunsets makes this the ideal getaway for parents-a separate bathroom with a shower and freestanding bath highlighting how perfect this actual space is.
Decking extends around to the main living area, with the large sliding doors opening onto the outside space. The tiered grassed landscape design has perfectly integrated functional and beautiful spaces for outdoor living. The stunning area features and decking platform for outside entertaining, fire pit, BBQ, and we cannot forget the ultimate play area for the kids.
The one-bedroom studio is adjacent to the main house, with the double carport separating this gorgeous getaway. The skillion roofline with a timber-clad roof and grey polished concrete floors frame the stunning modern black and timber kitchenette. The relaxing space perfectly captures its natural surroundings with low-maintenance native gardens that beautifully finish this property.
Offshore not only exudes privacy and stunning scenery, but the design and character of the house and studio (pending approval as a dwelling) are unique. The townsite of Margaret River is located in the south west agricultural area, 277 kilometres south southwest of Perth and 48 kilometres south southwest of Busselton. It is located on the Margaret River from which it derives its name. The precise origin of the naming of the river is not known, but it was possibly named by John Bussell in honour of Margaret Wyche, a friend in England who was expected to follow the Bussell's to Australia. The name is first shown on a map of the region published in 1839.
In 1910 the Margaret River Progress Association wrote to the Minister for Lands requesting a townsite be declared at "the Upper Margaret Bridge". The reason given was that "the district is likely to be dotted with public buildings several miles apart in the near future if a townsite is not made available shortly". The District Surveyor who inspected the area preferred an area near the lower bridge on Caves Road, but this land was not available. Lots were surveyed in 1912, and the Townsite of Margaret River gazetted in 1913. In 1918 the name of the townsite was changed to "Margaret", but it was changed back to Margaret River in 1927, due to local usage of the name always being Margaret River.
