Just over an acre, this block has a beautiful garden on a quiet street with perfect neighbours. It is a haven for many bird species that come to bathe regularly in the bird baths and nest in the shrubs.
In the Spring the garden comes alive with the blossoms of an abundant orchard and there is fruit to eat all year round. The fruit trees include; nectarine, yellow peach, white peach, apricot, Santa Rosa plums, satsuma plums, pear, quince, apple, orange, mandarin, grapefruit, lemon and lime trees. There are also 2 avocado trees which produce large and delicious fruit.
In the autumn there are several deciduous trees which produce brilliant colour. Along the driveway there is an avenue of ornamental pear trees which provide a beautiful privacy screen from the street.
The house is large, it has 2 floors, the bottom made of double brick and the top is Jarrah framed with hardiplank exterior. The roof and verandah is Jarrah framed and the double brick ensures strength - this house was made to last.
The top floor is currently being used as an artist's studio and has 2 rooms and a bathroom. There is a balcony, partly enclosed, which is a sun room, completely sealed and glazed for maximum light. It could be a meditation or writing room as it is peaceful and quiet. The house has solar hot water with a large wet back wood fire which also heats the water. The bathroom is bright and clean, having been recently renovated. The kitchen has solid bench tops, dishwasher and new oven.
At the back of the house there is a large patio surrounded by garden. With a chiminea fire, it is perfect for entertaining at any time of the year. There is a very large, fully lined shed which has a TV aerial and so would suit a man who loves to watch the footy away from the main house. At the back of the property there is a large fenced vegetable garden next to a fenced chook pen.
The new owners can sit back and enjoy the balmy summer evening light surrounded by a stunning garden, watch the garden come alive with colour and birdsong in Spring; watch the autumn colours emerge and enjoy the cosy wood fire inside or outside in the Winter.

The townsite of Margaret River is located in the south west agricultural area, 277 kilometres south southwest of Perth and 48 kilometres south southwest of Busselton. It is located on the Margaret River from which it derives its name. The precise origin of the naming of the river is not known, but it was possibly named by John Bussell in honour of Margaret Wyche, a friend in England who was expected to follow the Bussell's to Australia. The name is first shown on a map of the region published in 1839.
In 1910 the Margaret River Progress Association wrote to the Minister for Lands requesting a townsite be declared at "the Upper Margaret Bridge". The reason given was that "the district is likely to be dotted with public buildings several miles apart in the near future if a townsite is not made available shortly". The District Surveyor who inspected the area preferred an area near the lower bridge on Caves Road, but this land was not available. Lots were surveyed in 1912, and the Townsite of Margaret River gazetted in 1913. In 1918 the name of the townsite was changed to "Margaret", but it was changed back to Margaret River in 1927, due to local usage of the name always being Margaret River.
