Not everyone wants a brand-spanking new home full of modern bells and whistles. For those of you who appreciate a hint of 'the good old days' when things were built to last, when a property's charm could be found in gardens and secret nooks and pathways, and when there was plenty of magic to be found by any kids (and grown-ups!) who cared to look for it - this one's for you. A beautiful family home set on a large block, it may not be up-to-the-minute modern, but it's as lovely and full of delights as you could ever imagine.
Many memories have been made here, of cakes baking and the kettle boiling on the sturdy kitchen wood stove, of beautiful birds to be found both in the aviaries and in the stained-glass windows, and of afternoons spent playing hide and seek in the shade and the sunshine. The big rooms of this home will suit a family wanting space to move, and there's so much versatility. The sunroom is great for indoor plants or a spot of yoga, the study suits those working from home or teenagers needing their own space during exam times, and of course, there's the generous living area for dinners, game nights, and all the comings and goings of everyday life.

Permanent settlement in Mundaring began in 1882-84 when Mr Peter Gugeri established a vineyard south of the Eastern Railway. The first railway siding at Mundaring was named after him and for some years the area was generally known as "Gugeris". A later settler, M H Jacoby, took over Gugeris' vineyards in 1893, and named the business the "Mundaring Vineyard Company". The name came from an Aboriginal camp situated nearby and the meaning given to Jacoby by the aborigines was "a high place on a high place". The correct pronunciation was "Mundahring" but common usage has gradually converted this to "Mundairing".
