Parkview apartment in Maylands

Situated in the heart of Maylands, sits this beautifully presented two-bedroom top-floor apartment. Perfect for owner-occupiers or investors, it's easy to imagine sipping a morning coffee on the balcony overlooking over the wide, green space of Gibbney Reserve, and beyond.

The kitchen includes excellent storage plus a combined living/dining area with air conditioning and a bathroom with an integrated laundry. This low-maintenance gem is ideal for a single person, couple or small family looking for a simple place to settle in.

It's an enjoyable walking distance from Coles, IGA and Baigup Wetlands, and there's so much more to explore in the area. It's also comfortably close to Maylands Peninsula Primary School and Guildford Road for all of your transport needs. If you're not using the apartment's dedicated car space, you can easily walk to a selection of bus stops, as well as the Maylands Train Station. Prefer cycling? Take a ride alongside the Swan River as a wonderful way to spend your weekend, and you could check out the Maylands Tennis Club and Maylands Peninsula Golf Club along the way. If residents need to be close to work at St John of God Hospital or in the Perth CDB/Northbridge, Mephan Street is less than 6km away.

With Perth's rental availability at sustained lows, this apartment in a small complex of 20 units with a well-maintained communal yard could be a very smart purchase, whether it's to live in or lease out. The June median rent in Perth was recorded at $451/week, and some reports listed the vacancy rate at the time as an exceptionally lean 0.9%. This apartment could be snapped up by a fantastic tenant before it even hits the rental market!

Maylands overview

Maylands is a riverside inner-city suburb approximately 4.5 kilometres northeast of Perth, serviced by the Midland railway line on the northern bank of the Swan River. In 1896 the name "Maylands" was first used to identify the area, appearing on a poster advertising a land auction. However the exact reason how the area got its name is something of a mystery.

The suburb was once a source of clay for brick and tile making at Maylands Brickworks, and the pits from these activities are now part of a golf course and residential area. It was home to Perth's main airport until the early 1960s, and the facilities were converted to a training area for the Western Australian Police Service.

Life in Maylands

Maylands is known as a cultural and creative hub as it is home to The West Australian Ballet Centre and home to the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra. In recent years, new bars, cafés and restaurants, along with gourmet food and retail outlets have all contributed to an ongoing transformation of the town centre into a lively, diverse and inclusive destination. There are numerous shopping centres in the area, 15 parks and reserves and two primary schools.
