TOWNHOUSE TEMPTATION

Tranquilly positioned to the rear and with an abundance of driveway parking preceding it, this exceptional 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom two-storey residence flawlessly combines contemporary comfort with low-maintenance “lock-up-and-leave” living in a wonderful location that is nestled only walking distance away from our picturesque Swan River, stunning foreshore parklands, the Maylands Yacht Club and a host of fishing spots and leisure activities on the waterfront.

There are two separate living zones for everybody to enjoy here, the main one of which is situated downstairs – an open-plan family, dining and kitchen with quality appliances and flowing out to the splendid back courtyard for secluded entertaining that isn’t overlooked by any neighbours. Also on the lower level lies a cosy master-bedroom suite with a walk-in wardrobe and two-way powder-room access via an intimate ensuite bathroom that comprises of both a shower and vanity.

Upstairs, a spacious lounge room doubles personal living options and is the perfect light and bright retreat for the kids when they wake up in the morning. A practical main bathroom with a shower, separate bathtub and a toilet services this particular area, also acting as a semi-ensuite off the large second – or “guest” bedroom – that leaves plenty of space for a wardrobe if need be.

Maylands overview

Maylands is a riverside inner-city suburb approximately 4.5 kilometres northeast of Perth, serviced by the Midland railway line on the northern bank of the Swan River. In 1896 the name "Maylands" was first used to identify the area, appearing on a poster advertising a land auction. However the exact reason how the area got its name is something of a mystery.

The suburb was once a source of clay for brick and tile making at Maylands Brickworks, and the pits from these activities are now part of a golf course and residential area. It was home to Perth's main airport until the early 1960s, and the facilities were converted to a training area for the Western Australian Police Service.

Life in Maylands

Maylands is known as a cultural and creative hub as it is home to The West Australian Ballet Centre and home to the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra. In recent years, new bars, cafés and restaurants, along with gourmet food and retail outlets have all contributed to an ongoing transformation of the town centre into a lively, diverse and inclusive destination. There are numerous shopping centres in the area, 15 parks and reserves and two primary schools.
