THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS - CHARMING CHARACTER AT THE FRONT, MODERN MASTERPIECE AT THE BACK!

Shaun Pratt of Bellcourt Mount Lawley is thrilled to present to you 161 Peninsula Road, Maylands. This sensational home is the perfect blend between old and new.

Fully renovated throughout, this wonderful 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home has retained the beautiful, classic character features at the front and created a stunning modern extension to the rear. The front of the home which encapsulates the bedrooms is the original character weatherboard cottage with timber floorboards, high ceilings, stunning skirting boards and substantial room sizes. The master suite is extremely spacious and has its own walk-in-robe and a lovely ensuite with extra large shower and feature tiles and the two minor bedrooms are also fantastic sizes.

Heading down the hallway, you'll be taken aback by the extraordinary open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. The high ceilings of the original part of the home are carried through into this space and the result is simply amazing. With superb polished concrete floors and plenty of windows and natural light, the owners have created a fantastic living space. The kitchen packs a real punch and is absolutely massive. Featuring a large country-style island counter with undermount sink, double-free standing feature oven and it's own scullery with additional sinks and masses of storage and preparation space.

The extension also has created a secondary bathroom with claw-foot freestanding bath, subway tiles and custom-made timber vanity. Nearby is the large laundry with plenty of bench and storage space, plus a cleverly designed hanging space for your items. The laundry also provides access to the large attic via a pull down ladder.

The grand living area spills out onto the alfresco area via timber bifold doors. The alfresco is perfectly situated to create the perfect connection between inside and out, allowing for the entertainment of guests and family in the living area or outside simultaneously. The backyard has plenty of space for kids and pets to play, and has a large shed. An additional bonus of this property is that you also have side access without height restrictions and plenty of parking options.

Homes like this are often sought and rarely found, so if you've been looking for a fantastic home like this which will tick every box and plus some, make sure to attend one of our scheduled home opens as soon as possible!

Maylands overview

Maylands is a riverside inner-city suburb approximately 4.5 kilometres northeast of Perth, serviced by the Midland railway line on the northern bank of the Swan River. In 1896 the name "Maylands" was first used to identify the area, appearing on a poster advertising a land auction. However the exact reason how the area got its name is something of a mystery.

The suburb was once a source of clay for brick and tile making at Maylands Brickworks, and the pits from these activities are now part of a golf course and residential area. It was home to Perth's main airport until the early 1960s, and the facilities were converted to a training area for the Western Australian Police Service.

Life in Maylands

Maylands is known as a cultural and creative hub as it is home to The West Australian Ballet Centre and home to the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra. In recent years, new bars, cafés and restaurants, along with gourmet food and retail outlets have all contributed to an ongoing transformation of the town centre into a lively, diverse and inclusive destination. There are numerous shopping centres in the area, 15 parks and reserves and two primary schools.
