Federation Delight Surrounded By Attractive Gardens

Behind a white picket fence is a delightful 1918 circa home surrounded by attractive cottage gardens. Through the front door you will step into a hallway with high ceilings and timber floors. Two bedrooms are located either side of the hallway. The master bedroom has gorgeous timber built in wardrobes, decorative cornices and picture rails. Both bedrooms have the classic Federation high ceilings and a view to the front garden.
Timber floors continue into the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has a dishwasher and the faade of the old Metters stove. From the dining area through a doorway with timber fretting, a hallway leads to a king size bedroom and a study. Adjacent to the study is a glass panelled external door that provides access from the car port; a convenient shopper's entry.
The living room has floor to ceiling windows. This is a light, relaxing space with a slow combustion wood fire and reverse cycle air conditioner. At the rear of the home is a bathroom with a stained-glass window and an extra-large laundry and second toilet.
Outside, seated under the patio, enjoy a clear view to the delightful reticulated gardens and an aged corrugated iron shed. Here, you can park one car or bring a trailer into the 900 square meter property through a gate from the rear lane way.
With additional work now completed to add subfloor venting and drainage, this charming Federation home must be seen. Book your appointment to view 16 Jersey Street Narrogin by calling Sandra on 0487 316 906.

Narrogin overview

The townsite of Narrogin is located in the great southern agricultural region, 192 km south east of Perth and 32 km east north east of Williams. It is located on the Great Southern Railway, and when this line was opened in 1889, Narrogin was one of the original stopping places. The railway line was a private line, and the Company that built the line declared a private townsite here in 1891. The railway was purchased by the Government in 1896, and in 1897 Narrogin was gazetted as a government townsite.

Narrogin is an Aboriginal name, having been first recorded as "Narroging" for a pool in this area in 1869. The meaning of the name is uncertain, various sources recording it as "bat camp", "plenty of everything" or derived from "gnargagin" which means "place of water".
