Charismatic (large) Cottage :: Twinkling Lights

COTTAGE | originating c1945 with extensions to large but cosy home
STYLE FILE | gleaming timber floors, art deco influence, high ceilings
SECLUSION | delectably private and nestled among the gum trees
VISTAS | twinkling coastal lights and adjoining beautiful bushland
RESIDENTS | kangaroos, magpies, kookaburras, more birds, bandicoots
MAGICAL | do you think the Gumnut Babies may live here too ?
CAPACITY | 4/5 bedrooms, 5 living areas, 2 bathrooms, 3 toilets
HOLISTIC | divine venue for yoga, meditation, pilates, tai chi etc

Wander down the driveway, capturing that magnificent city vista on the way, to our secluded, CHARMING, delightful, rambling cottage, originating in the 1940s and has enjoyed substantial extensions along the way.

Such a COSY home offering a selection of 5 living zones including various quiet nooks for contemplative thought or a quiet read.

On a different thought, the Family Room would lend itself to HOLISTIC activity (yoga, pilates etc) with it's own entry and 3rd toilet or enjoy tai chi on the lawn adjoining the beautiful bushland.

The delightful 'front room' is graced with an ART DECO ceiling rose, ornate cornices, gleaming timber floors and a fireplace to warm the cockles of your heart in winter which extends to the gracious Dining Room with a servery to the well appointed Kitchen and flowing to the elevated DECK to enjoy the SUNSET and twinkling coastal lights.

Dawn and Dusk represent very special parts of the day with the chatter of birds, the laughter of kookaburras, the warbling of magpies and the kangaroos who come in from the beautiful bushland (Crown Reserve) to trim the lawn for you. We currently have a joey who stays close to Mumma, so special.

With a selection of alfresco areas and garden rooms to enjoy this secluded location amongst the gum trees, you may well be enchanted. The adjoining Crown Reserve of over 31 acres is beautiful with stunning eucalypts, zanthorrea (grass trees) and big bold granite outcrops and is home to our local marsupials and birdlife who come in to say hello.

This property may well appeal to couples and provides great zoning for families and I believe would be a divine setting for holistic journeys and enterprise (subject to the relevant approvals).

We encourage your early attention. Please call Pamela Abraham on 0409 581 008 for further information or to arrange your viewing.

Lesmurdie overview

Like Kalamunda, the development of the "Lesmurdie" area is closely tied to the exploitation of the Jarrah forest in the region by the Canning Jarrah Timber Company Ltd. In 1897, Mr Archibald Sanderson, a Perth journalist commenced the acquisition of a number of these properties, with a view to building up a "rural retreat" and he named his property "Lesmurdie". Lesmurdie Cottage was a shooting-box in Banffshire, Scotland, near Dufftown and was let to Mr Sanderson's father for shooting. It was in memory of this cottage that Sanderson applied the name to his property.

Life in Lesmurdie
