Born and bread in Bunbury James attended Bunbury Central School and ,he did his senior high school years of in Perth. After completing his TAE he stayed in Perth to continue his studies eventually returning to Bunbury to complete his Associate Diploma in Accountancy at Bunbury Tafe.
