  • REIWA joins METRONET Private Sector Reference Group

The State Government’s METRONET project is kicking into high gear and we have been asked to form part of the METRONET Private Sector Reference Group.

REIWA, along with seven other private sector industry bodies, will advise on a variety of complex planning issues vital to METRONET.

Representatives will also be chosen from the Urban Development Institute of Australia, Planning Institute of Australia, Property Council of Australia, Housing Industry Association, Master Builders’ Association, Australian Property Institute and Shelter WA.

Transport and Planning Minister, the Hon. Rita Saffioti MLA, said the group will provide private sector subject matter expertise which reflects the wider industry, and identifies diverse perspectives so the best possible outcomes are achieved.

“METRONET is about building liveable, connected communities. The private sector is well-placed to advise how we make these new developments come to life,” Minister Saffioti said.

The METRONET Private Sector Reference Group will meet for the first time in the coming weeks.
