This week is National Homelessness Week, highlighting that homelessness remains a problem and there is much to be done to help those who don't have safe haven to go home to at night.
The Salvation Army estimate that over 9,000 West Australians experience homelessness each night, and it’s expected that this number will increase due to the impacts of the COVID-19, which is why National Homelessness Week is even more important this year.
The Institute and our members our proud to partner with the Salvos as part of our Community REInvest initiative, which provides support so that they can continue their vital work, particularly in response to homelessness.
On Monday 3 August, REIWA Advocacy and Policy Manager Sadie Davidson was a panelist at an event organised by Shelter WA in partnership with the WA Alliance to End Homelessness to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on homelessness.
