Yundathana West

Currently operated as part of an integrated pastoral and backgrounding business, young cattle are weaned and backgrounded here prior to going into the feedlot. Yundathana West runs approximately 2,500 young cattle for up to nine months, as well as 500 dorper ewes all year. The Dorpers also lamb on a 8 month cycle.

Yundathana West comprises a complementary mix of soil types for year round production. Heavy clay flats provide excellent grazing and hay production, with lighter sandy areas providing winter grazing and shelter.

Infrastructure includes a large central cattle yard connected to a central laneway for ease of livestock movements. Water is reticulated across the property via solar equipped bores and troughs. An internal boundary fence is recently installed and all other fences are in near new or well maintained condition.

Fertiliser history is strong with 150kg/ha of NPKS applied annually in autumn, as well as additional fertilising in Spring on hay paddocks. Lime has been applied over the last five years across the main grazing areas.

An additional income is derived from a large highway billboard located adjacent to Forrest Hwy.
