• Perth Market Snapshot for the week ending 9 January


    Following the traditional lull of the Christmas and New Year period, sales activity in Perth rebounded strongly this week with 465 transactions recorded.

    The overall 127 per cent increase in weekly sales is attributed to a 116 per cent increase house sales, a 139 per cent increase in unit sales and a 213 per cent increase in vacant land sales.

    It’s not unusual for sales activity to increase significantly after the festive season break, with transactions typically recovering rapidly in the New Year.

    Listings for sale

    There were 13,134 properties listed for sale in Perth this week, with listings for units increasing by two per cent, while house and vacant land listings were stable.

    This week’s total listings figure is 10 per cent lower than four weeks ago and six per cent lower than the same time last year.

    Perth rental market

    REIWA members reported there were 9429 available rentals in Perth this week.

    This is one per cent higher than four weeks ago and 14 per cent lower than the same time last year.
