    Sales activity in Perth lifted 28 per cent this week, on the back of lower transactions throughout the Christmas and New Year period.

    The lift to 535 transactions can be attributed to a 24 per cent increase for both house and unit sales, and an 83 per cent increase for vacant land sales.

    It is the normal trend for this time of year for transactions to recover rapidly following the holiday break.

    Listings for sale

    The total number of properties for sale in Perth increased by three per cent this week, lifting to 14,444.

    Listings for houses, units, and vacant land increased by three, three and one per cent respectively.

    The total number of listings recorded this week is four per cent lower than four weeks ago and one per cent lower than the same time last year.

    Perth rental market

    REIWA members reported that the total number of properties for rent in Perth declined marginally by one percent to 10,805 over the week.

    This figure is three per cent higher than four weeks ago and 11 per cent higher than the same time last year.
