  • Perth Market Snapshot for the week ending 15 December

photo-perth-tree-viewThis week REIWA members reported a small one per cent decrease in weekly sales to record 548 sales.

This decrease in sales over the week is attributed to a one per cent decrease in sales for houses and units respectively.

Total properties listed for sale also decreased by two per cent to 15,980 this week from 16,297 last week.

Listings for houses and land have both decreased by two per cent with unit listings recording a marginal decrease, down one per cent.

The total number of listings recorded this week is the lowest since mid-October 2015 which may be attributable to a seasonal effect as we approach the end of the year. This is consistent with last year when listing numbers fell during the month of December in the lead up to the New Year.

In Perth’s rental market, REIWA members reported a virtually unchanged percentage in total properties for rent over the week from 9,582 last week to 9,600 this week. However, this is still two per cent higher than figures seen four weeks ago.

The distribution of rental listings continues to remain at similar ratios for houses (60 per cent) and units (40 per cent).
