  • Owner occupier activity falls in WA

Owner occupier activity falls in WA - reiwa.comAccording to the latest figures by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, owner occupier activity declined in Western Australia in November 2015.

The figures show that while owner occupier lending continued to increase overall across the nation, WA went against trend to record a 0.4 per cent decline.

REIA President Neville Sanders said increases were recorded in all states except for WA and Queensland, while there was an overall decline in investor activity across the country.

“The value of investment housing commitments decreased by 2.9 per cent in trend terms. This is the sixth consecutive month of falling investor lending and the lowest monthly figure for the 12 months to November 2015 showing that the macro prudential measures and falling rental returns are having an impact on investor activity,” Mr Sanders said.
