REIWA Chief Executive Officer Neville Pozzi has won the prestigious President's Award at the Real Estate Institute of Australia's (REIA) 2022 National Awards for Excellence held on Thursday 7 April in Melbourne.

The REIA President's Award is the top award of the evening. It recognises and celebrates outstanding contributions to the real estate profession by individuals who have been in the industry for at least 10 years.

Mr Pozzi was awarded the President’s Award for making a remarkable contribution to real estate nationally through his lifetime of work at REIWA.

Over the past 45 years, Mr Pozzi has been instrumental in implementing the development and growth of REIWA and making it one of the most successful institutes in the country.

One of Mr Pozzi’s greatest legacies is the industry portal reiwa.com and more recently REIWA’s Accreditation program, which recognises best practice in REIWA members, advancing trust in and appreciation for what real estate agencies do.

Another extremely meaningful achievement in Mr Pozzi’s time as CEO was the establishment of REIWA’s Community REInvest program and the partnership with The Salvation Army.

“Being able to mobilise our industry’s support for those vulnerable in our community, especially those experiencing homelessness, and helping The Salvation Army in their very important work, has been a privilege,” Mr Pozzi said.

REIA President Hayden Groves said Mr Pozzi has had an impressive 45-year career in the industry.

"He has been instrumental in implementing the development and growth of the organisation and making it one of the most successful institutes in the country,” Mr Groves said.

While accepting his award, Mr Pozzi said the real estate industry was a great industry filled with great innovators and adapters.

“We meet every challenge that we are faced with and we provide a valuable service to our community,” he said.

Mr Pozzi is REIWA’s longest-serving employee, having started his career at the Institute in 1977 as an Accountant.

He has held the positions of Manager of Finance and Administration, Deputy Executive Director, General Manager of Operations and Chief Financial Officer during his time at the Institute, before being appointed as CEO in 2012.

Mr Pozzi will be retiring this year, with Cath Hart appointed as CEO from 2 May 2022.
