The quick six with... Brendon Habak

    1. How did you become a real estate agent?

I was searching for a change of scenery and career after having sold my successful small business in New South Wales (which was in sales and business coaching) and having simultaneously finished my Bachelor of Business degree specialising in property economics. Not ever having been to Western Australia, I decided to pack up and head west to pursue a new career as a residential real estate salesperson.

    2. What do you enjoy most about your job?

The constant changes and challenges that come from the dynamic nature of our industry, buying behaviours, seller’s needs and improvements in technology. I learned early in life that I need a constant challenge to remain focused and real estate provides me with this.

    3. What is the most challenging part of your job?

Balancing my time to ensure that my customer service does not suffer nor my support to my growing team of young real estate professionals.

    4. What are you most proud of achieving in your role?

Building my business from a team of two to now a team of 12, all within five years and with all of my staff having little to no prior real estate experience. To see them growing and thriving is what I am proud of.

    5. How have the last 12 months been like for you on the ground?

Busy! 2021 was the year that wouldn’t end, but in a good way. Sales have been quicker; listings have been a little tighter to secure and clients have been more demanding.

    6. What is your best advice for sellers?

Have a realistic expectation of price and be completely honest with your sales agent about your sales needs and goals. Work with your sales agent and never against them.
