Modern Home Close to the River

Fancy retiring to the coast? Or maybe you just want a nice, modern, lock-and-leave holiday home that doesn't take hours to get to.

This neat and tidy 3 bedroom home is only seven years old and situated on a massive 926 m2 elevated block. It is walking distance to the river and has a nice outlook over the golf course.

The modern kitchen and spacious living area are great for family time. The three large bedrooms accommodate up to 8 people and all have built-in robes. On those beautiful summer mornings, the front verandah is great for relaxing with a coffee while looking out over the golf course. If the breeze gets a bit strong in the evening, you can still enjoy a barbecue on the sheltered back patio, while the kids play on the lawn.

The 6m x 6m lockable double garage has plenty of room to safely store a dinghy, kayaks and boogie boards.

There is so much to do in Guilderton, such as kayaking on the river, sandboarding on the dunes, fishing and swimming at the beach, exploring the numerous walk trails and riverside boardwalk. The great thing about this relaxed coastal village is that you can leave work on Friday afternoon and be here in just over an hour.

Guilderton overview

The townsite of Guilderton is located on the coast at the mouth of the Moore River, 94 kilometres north of Perth. It was gazetted a townsite in 1951, but has been used as a camping and holiday place since around 1905 when residents of Gingin petitioned the Lands Department for the creation of a road to the place and a camping reserve. A reserve for a picnic ground was declared in 1907, and the area soon became popular for camping and picnicking In the 1940s public demand for permanent camping sites led to the government deciding to declare a townsite, and seeking a name for the area, which up until then had been locally referred to as "Moore River".

A number of names were considered, the preferred name of "Guilderton" being suggested by Mrs Henrietta Drake-Brockman. The name links the town with the wreck of the Dutch ship "Gilt Dragon" near here in 1656, and the loss of thousands of Guilders it was carrying. Dutch coins and relics of the wreck have been found near the mouth of the Moore River.
