An open plan that will open your heart

What we love
The 12.3-acre / 5.0015-hectare cut of unspoilt, dense bush-block in a location of a lifetime! The chance to immerse yourself daily in some of mother nature’s finest work. The trees swaying in the breeze, the sweet serenity of birdsong and the endless stream of visiting wildlife stopping by to say “G’day”. The absolute privacy, glorious outdoor views, the freedom of never feeling the need to draw the blinds again - and that ‘miles-from-anywhere’ feeling washing over you as soon as you roll in off the road towards home-sweet-home….

But wait, you’re only minutes from the heart of town, minutes from the beach, and arguably, amidst some of the county's finest wine and dine options, right here on the south-west surrounded by countless things to do, see, eat, drink and explore at your door.

What to know
An untouched natural beauty with all the wonder of a story-book fairytale, complete with a gorgeous ‘Hansel & Gretel’ style timber and stone cabin (non-approved) amongst a thick canopy of trees. You’d barely know it was there…. if it weren’t for the trail of breadcrumbs!

12.3 Acre / 5.0015 Hectare (approx) dense bush-block
5 minutes to Margaret River town centre & coastline
Walk to multiple world-class wineries/restaurants incl Leeuwin Estate
Hansel & Gretel-style (non-approved) log dwelling
Built with locally sourced timbers & stone
Connected to power and water tank, feature stone fireplace
Mezzanine bedroom + open layout kitchen, dining/living

Constructed using locally sourced timbers and stone, connected to mains power and town water and complete with a hand-crafted stone fireplace that radiates heat all winter long and adds a touch of ambience to your romantic weekend escape! The rustic, old-world cabin uses the term ‘open plan’ in a literal sense with a mezzanine bedroom and a large open layout kitchen, dining and living below.

A perfect weekend escape from the city lights, and certainly able to accommodate on a more permanent basis while you put your architect and builder to task creating your dream home!

The block is gently undulating with multiple building envelopes to consider, and an opportunity to take advantage of the region’s strong year-round tourist trade with an enterprise (STCA) or short-stay accommodation. The options are endless in this idyllic corner of the world!

Located minutes from town and the stunning coastline, surf beaches, tourist attractions and all amenities - and of course, Margaret River’s famous wine region with Frog Choir, Redgate, Voyager, Xanadu and world-class Leeuwin wineries all within rolling distance from your door!

Expect to fall in love with this beautiful property, the local wines, brews and produce, the stunning south-west region and the down-to-earth community folk.

Margaret River overview

The townsite of Margaret River is located in the south west agricultural area, 277 kilometres south southwest of Perth and 48 kilometres south southwest of Busselton. It is located on the Margaret River from which it derives its name. The precise origin of the naming of the river is not known, but it was possibly named by John Bussell in honour of Margaret Wyche, a friend in England who was expected to follow the Bussell's to Australia. The name is first shown on a map of the region published in 1839.

In 1910 the Margaret River Progress Association wrote to the Minister for Lands requesting a townsite be declared at "the Upper Margaret Bridge". The reason given was that "the district is likely to be dotted with public buildings several miles apart in the near future if a townsite is not made available shortly". The District Surveyor who inspected the area preferred an area near the lower bridge on Caves Road, but this land was not available. Lots were surveyed in 1912, and the Townsite of Margaret River gazetted in 1913. In 1918 the name of the townsite was changed to "Margaret", but it was changed back to Margaret River in 1927, due to local usage of the name always being Margaret River.
