Perfect Holiday Base, Perfect Location!

This is an absolute unique opportunity to acquire a holiday base in one of the best locations in Augusta opposite Dawson Park and the Hardey Inlet. Just 4 years old this modern simple compact abode is set up for perfect holidays for a couple and if you wish to extend for a family that option has been very much allowed for. Accommodation consists of an open plan living dining kitchen, combined bathroom laundry, and bedroom. On the north side is an all weather alfresco deck and at the rear a single Colorbond garage. A great place to store the boat or kayaks. You won't need a skipper if you plan to visit the pub as it is a very short stroll and if you prefer walking then across the road is the start of the foreshore pedestrian path that will take you all the way to the boat harbour. Alternatively, take the fishing rods across the road to the town jetties and catch a feed.

Augusta overview

The most south westerly town in the state, Augusta was named by Gov. Sir James Stirling in May 1830. Until 2003 it was thought the name honoured Princess Augusta Sophia, second daughter of King George III and Queen Charlotte. In 2003 the book "James Stirling - Admiral and Founding Governor of Western Australia" a letter by James Turner is referred to which states "a town is purposed to be built named Augusta, County of Sussex, in compliment to the Duke". Princess Augusta Sophia died unmarried, and the "Duke" is most likely the Duke of Sussex, Augustus Frederick (Hanover), the 6th son of George III. He married Lady Augusta Murray in 1793, but the marriage was deemed a violation of the Royal Marriage Act, and was declared null and void in 1794. Lady Augusta Murray is most likely the person after whom Augusta is named.
