COUNTRY COTTAGE

Welcome to this 4 bedroom and 2 bathroom cottage on a 1,214m2 block in the heart of North Dandalup. The original home was built in 1950 for workers on the local railway line and over it's life the home has seen some modernisation and extensions made to a point where we have today's 4x2 configuration.

From the street the front of the home has a native style cottage garden with a path that meanders through the garden to the verandah at the front of the home. From the front door you enter into the lounge room with traditional high ceilings to keep you cool in summer, plus you have a reverse cycle air conditioner to give you comfort all year round, and as an extra feature, a tile fire has been placed in the centre of the home which radiates warmth through the home.

Off the living area is the traditional dining area, perfect for entertaining, which leads to the large family kitchen, which has been nicely updated with plenty of bench space and has a near new oven and hotplate installed.

Down the passage there is a large laundry, with lots of storage and separate toilet. On the left are the 3 minor bedrooms, opposite these bedrooms is the main bathroom which also has lots of storage. At the back of the home is the main bedroom with its own ensuite and separate toilet.

Moving outside there is a large games room area, with paved floors, just right for the pool table. From here there is a double carport attached. While in the large rear yard you will find two large sheds, as well as a good selection of fruit trees and a rainwater tank. Solar panels on the roof make this home cheaper to run. There is access through the carport and side access down the other side of the home which allows access to the yard for your vehicles.

With its location in the heart of North Dandalup, it is an easy walk to the tavern, town hall, primary school and easy access to the train station. Not to mention it is less than 25 minutes drive from Mandurah.

It certainly is a comfortable home in a great location!

North Dandalup overview

The townsite of North Dandalup is located in the south west, 71 km south of Perth and 16 km north east of Pinjarra. It is located adjacent to the North Dandalup River, from which it derives its name. Dandalup is an Aboriginal name, having been shown on maps of the area since 1835. The meaning of the name is not known.

The townsite is situated on the South Western Railway, and North Dandalup was included as a stopping place in timetables of 1894. Land around the siding was privately owned and subdivided, but a schoolsite was set aside in 1899, and a hall and recreation ground in 1915. In 1932 the North Dandalup Prescribed Area was declared, and then in 1972 the area was gazetted a townsite.
