With a sought-after Boya address, the home sits screened from the road by established trees and a front yard carpeted with lush green lawn. Moving to the front door you get your first hints of the retro-style waiting to be revealed. Entry to the home is through a paved courtyard, think Palm Springs and you will soon recognise the classic modernist elements and on-trend potential in this home.

A formal lounge with gas bayonet is arranged at the front of the building, with a second living area provided by the family room. Large windows look out to the courtyard bringing the garden into the room and creating a tranquil, private space.

The recently renovated kitchen adjoins a family meals area. From here, a sliding door opens to the east-facing patio. This outdoor area offers restful views of lawn and established shade trees. All of the elements are in place to create an unbroken flow between inside and out – large windows, sliding doors, lush backdrop, patio – with a little work this area could become the ideal setting for sipping martinis on long summer evenings.

The private rooms are arranged in a separate wing. Each of the 3 junior bedrooms is generous in size and fitted with split system air-conditioning. The main bedroom, also with split system air-conditioning, boasts large built-in robes and an ensuite. A family bathroom is comprised of an over-tub shower and vanity. A separate W.C is situated off the walk-through laundry.

Reveal the clean lines and open spaces and bring some laid-back elegance to your very own Palm Springs oasis. Should you ever want to leave your glamorous home, the vibrant Darlington village and Helena Valley Recreation facilities are within walking distance. Set in a fantastic Hill’s location, endless outdoors adventures await.

Boya overview

To supply the stone required to build the groynes at Fremantle Harbour, a Government quarry was established in the hills a little south-west of Darlington. A spur line was run into the quarry from the existing railway and, by July 1901, dozens of iron and hessian huts housing approximately 150 workmen were clustered near the site. In August of 1901, construction began on a railway siding for the use of this settlement and the first name proposed was "Yan-Yeen". This was rejected because of a duplication in Victoria and the Aboriginal word "Boya", appropriately meaning rock/stone, was chosen instead. It was later found that the correct Aboriginal name for the area was "Nyeedoup" but Boya remains appropriate as the Aboriginal sub-tribe who once inhabited the hills were known as "Boya-Ngoora".
