Farmhouse Charm, Space & Function

Through the front gate and down the winding driveway leads you to this charming, character family home only a few minutes' drive from Denmark's town centre. With a relaxed feel, this is a relatively low maintenance property that benefits from a tranquil valley outlook.

Built in the 1950's, relocated, and lovingly improved and maintained, this wonderful home sits perfectly on a peaceful and private property bordering a reserve - further enhancing the already large 9,999sqm or 1 hectare lot.

Stunning leadlight doors and windows, beautiful pine flooring and a family friendly floor plan will cater to the family and entertainers alike. Formal and informal dining, living, lounge and family rooms each with their own mix of those gorgeous leadlight doors and windows provoke a sense of romance. A separate large and light filled country kitchen provide the central hub while the bedrooms at either ends of the home are separated by the 2 bathrooms. 3 of the bedrooms have direct access to the verandah and grounds beyond. A very useful multi-purpose studio room on the rear deck with its own entry and valley outlook provides many options for its future use.

The property itself is fully fenced and has an abundance of natural water supplied from your very own soak down the bottom of an enchanting treed area. A large double garage, lean-to and extra paved areas provide plenty of level parking and storage solutions.

Peace Street by name and by nature is perfectly positioned for quick trips to delight in Denmark's growing shopping outlets, or to indulge in some of the best cool climate wineries and breweries in the South West.

Denmark overview

The townsite of Denmark, located on the south coast 51 kilometres west of Albany, was gazetted a townsite in 1909. It is located on the Denmark River from which it derives its name, the river having been named by the explorer Dr J B Wilson RN in December 1829. Wilson named it the "Denmark" in compliment to his friend Dr. Alexander Denmark R.N. a physician to the fleet. The Aboriginal name "Koorrabup", recorded by Alfred Hillman in 1833, also refers to this area.

Although a townsite was not declared here until 1909, a settlement of this name had existed here for some years previous. A Millars Bros. Timber mill was established on the banks of the river in 1894.
