    As is usual around the Christmas and New Year period, sales activity in Perth declined significantly over the week, recording 205 transactions.

    This 22 per cent overall decline can be attributed to a 21 per cent decrease in house sales, a 15 per cent decrease in unit sales and a 33 per cent decline in land sales.

    Listings for sale

    The total number of properties for sale in Perth declined by seven per cent over the week to 13,884.

    Listings for both houses and vacant land decreased by six per cent over the week and units fell by nine per cent.

    The total number of listings recorded this week is 11 per cent lower than four weeks ago and one per cent lower than the same time last year.

    Perth rental market

    REIWA members reported that the total number of properties for rent in Perth increased by a marginal one per cent over the week to 10,542.

    This is similar to levels seen four weeks ago, but is 11 per cent higher than the same time last year.
